If you think that the celebrity baby names of today are unconventional, then it's time to get acquainted with your favourite star's pet dog.

From names inspired by anything from fictional characters to culinary delights, there seems to be an ever-growing trend of celebrities owning four-legged friends with weird and wonderful names.

And so the team at Preply have rounded up some of the unique celebrity pooch names out there.

Shark - Billie Eilish's Pit Bull

During the start of the COVID pandemic, star Billie helped to foster puppies, and one particular cutie she took on is Shark.

Adopted from Angel City Pit Bulls in Los Angeles, Shark is a male Pit Bull whose bark can be heard in some of Eilish's iconic songs, such as I Didn't Change My Number.

Kate Moss - Miley Cyrus' Bulldog

Back in 2020, popstar Miley Cyrus adopted an abandoned, nappy-wearing Bulldog who was living on a mat in a fire station... and named it after British model Kate Moss.

Apparently, this pooch is a big fan of Cyrus' voice, admitting Kate Moss howls and sings with her as the star warms up for her shows.

Emperor Han - Martha Stewart's Chow Chow

US television personality Martha Stewart is certainly no stranger to calling her pets unconventional names.

Joining her two French Bulldogs Creme Brulee and Bete Noire, Stewart pays tribute to Ancient Chinese history by naming her Chow Chow Emperor Han.

Fun fact: Emperor Han does in fact have a sister in the Stewart family called Empress Qin.
